Rewind to Toulouse, France, in 1972

Ran When Parked’s weekly Rewind series is following your author to Toulouse, a major city in the southwestern part of France. The pictures below were taken in 1972.

Which car(s) can you identify in these images? Which one(s) would you most like to see in your driveway today? I’d choose the Panhard PL17 — I actually came very close to buying one that was almost identical to the example in the second image a couple of years ago, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

  1. As well as the Panhard, the DS, naturally, or the ID in the middle. Also the Simca 1000 from the top picture, as it’s only one I’ve actually driven. But due to the driveway having room for one only, it would have to be the Panhard.
