We’re traveling back to the town of Vibraye, France, during the early 1970s. The picture below was taken right in the middle of town.
What car(s) can you identify in this picture? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage? We’ve got dibs on the Alfa Romeo 2600, and we’re intrigued by the super-long-wheelbase H parked in front of the Comptoirs store.
The picture above was kindly provided by the Voitures des années 60 Facebook page.
Easy. I’m French and I was a teen by then . I can identify every car, more so as in this time cars were clearly different, unlike now . The H van is a Citroën panel van that has been lengthen for some professional reasons . .See here : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Type_H
if that is a R8 in front of the Pharmacie store, i will take it.
You mean the blue one ? Yes it’s a Renault and I’d say 80% chances it’s an R8 but I have a slight doubt about R10 . From far and from the back it’s not easy to sort out .
The beige Citroen GS, please. I’ve always wanted to drive one of those.
Wow – how popular was the old Simca 1100…….????
Congratulations, identifying these old French cars is special ! Well I remember in my teen years Simca 1100 were rather common in the streets, not as many as the legendary Simca 1000 but rather anyway .
