We’re traveling back to Germany in the mid-1960s, in the mid-1970s again in the mid-1980s. More specifically, the pictures below (and we don’t have higher-res versions, sorry) were taken at the Helmstedt-Marienborn border crossing between East and West Germany.
What car(s) can you identify in the images below? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage today?
1st photo left side 10th car back is full size chevy/gm ( 59 to 62 maybe ). i will take all the aircooled VW’s. last photo what a mess, i wonder how long it took to get across the border.

Is that an early Opel Kapitan at the front of the line at the left of the top photo?
Last photo. Car behind the nearest to camera is a ZAZ 966 (you can see the side mounted intakes for the rear engine).
