We’re traveling back to the Bavarian Alps in the late 1980s. The picture below shows an open-air junkyard – we don’t know where it was taken, but it’s certainly gone by now.
What car(s) can you identify in the stack of cars? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage today? We’d take either the Fiat 127 or the 500, or the Autobianchi A112.
The DAF coupe and the R20 would do me fine thanks
Look on the very bottom of the stack with the black Fiesta, Fiat 127, etc, right in front of the bulldozer. Is that a NSU TT?
It’s interesting to see so many junked Italian cars in the Bavarian Alps. I see the back end of a Renault 4 under the Fiat 500 and an Alfasud right behind it. It’s interesting to see a Lancia Beta at the lower left side, too. I’ll take the Ford Fiesta on the top and the Renault 4.
The Beta was what, 10ish years old in 1988? I’d hate to see the underside of it, ha. Brilliant cars (I had a 1978), but my god could they rust.
i will take the VW beetle and bus plus the fiesta.
I like the single cab on the bottom left of the stack. I bet the person who scrapped it regrets not simply parking it in a barn somewhere and hanging on to it.
the single cab was what i was looking at when i said ” bus “. sorry. and yes they are worth a lot today.
ha, no worries, I knew which one you were talking about. I think that’s a bus on the very left of the pic too, isn’t it?
What, no takers for the 127’s, the Daf 44 Coupe, the 128 and the Alfa Sud?
I’d love a 127/128!
