We’re traveling back to England in the early 1960s. The first three pictures below were taken in Birmingham, and the fourth one was shot in Suffolk.
What car(s) can you identify in these black and white shots? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage?
There are a lot of cool, rare classics in these shots but we’d go with the early Land Rover in the last pic.
Thanks to Dan from Hemmings for the heads-up!
i will take the jag in the 4th photo.
Certainly the XK150. Failing that, the Zephyr and Zodiac in the first and third pictures, the Farina Austin Westminsters in the second or Princess 3-litre on the left in the first. The station car park offers quite a clear social profile of its users. At the other extreme, I’ve always had a thing for Halewood Ford Anglias. And, badly parked on the right in the first picture, you get a glimpse of a Hillman Minx Mark 3, with its side-valve engine, 6v electrics and small headlamps, quite a rarity even at the time these photos were shot.
ford consul in the first pic. My grandad has one along with a morris 8. I should take some pics!
