We’re traveling back to a Dutch resort town called Scheveningen in the 1950s and the 1960s. What car(s) can you identify in the following images? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage?
We’ve got dibs on the silver Mercedes-Benz 190SL parked on the right side of the first photo. We’d also be happy with the blue Beetle in the foreground and the red Volkswagen Single Cab behind the crowd on the right side of the second pic.
The first photo was kindly provided by the Voitures des années 60 Facebook page, while the second comes from Wikimedia Commons
I’d go for the daft Daf Variomatic (and then race it backwards) or the Opel Rekord A CarAVan, and, when it comes to the second photo, I would certainly choose the Dauphine (Ralph Nader go get some, this car survived our unmodernized Romanian roads in the ’60’s, and were quite frequent official imports.)
I’d love to have the Austin-Healey Sprite with the red top.
i will take the midget/sprite with side curtians, all the beetles, and the vw bus. i hope the the beetle and 190 are not testing bumpers!
I’ll take the Black Opel(?) in front of the yellow Beetle in the top picture.
