We’re traveling back to Germany in the early 1960s. The photo below was seemingly taken in front of a train station, though we can’t identify exactly what town it is in.
What car(s) can you identify in the picture? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage? We’ve been on a little bit of a Fiat kick as of late so we’d likely pick the blue 500, though we’re disappointed that it’s not a Steyr Puch-built model. Otherwise, we’d be more than happy with the gray Beetle in the middle of the picture.

It’s the Hauptbahnhof/central station of the city of Mannheim. Derived from the car registration plates, starting with MA, and just confirmed by Google image search.
And I would go for all three split-window VW buses… 🙂
i will take all the beetles, VW buses , and the car ( BMW ? ) parked in front of the blue fiat.
whats the interestingly shaped car next to the gold Beetle with the grey body and white roof? There is also a silver beguiling machine on the right 2nd row?
Both Auto Union 1000s, I think. Looking at the paintwork on the two-tone one and the headlights on the silver one, I think the silver one was older.

Most certainly the grey BMW 700 🙂
Good choice!
Fords (Taurus), Opels, BMW (328 and 700), Mercedes(s), Audi(s,) Fiat, VW(s)
Is that a Borgward just above the head of the woman in the lower right of the photo?
