We’re traveling back to Paris, France, in the early 1960s. We don’t know exactly where the picture below was taken but it confirms our suspicion that traffic in Paris has always been a mess to navigate through.
What car(s) can you identify in the picture below? What one(s) would you most like to have in your driveway? We’d be tempted by a 2CV but we’d ultimately pick one of the two blue DS 19s.
Note: We don’t know where this picture comes from, it’s been on our hard drive for a while now. If you own the rights to it shoot us an email, we’ll credit you.
There’s 4 DS in this picture. Which two are the 19?
Wonderful!
Judging from the size of the roundabout, from the vantage point, from the form of the curbs and from the direction of the shadows: I’d suspect this is the former Place de l’Étoile (now known as Place Charles de Gaulle), photographed from the Arc de Triomphe, looking down towards Champs-Élysées (top right) and Avenue de Friedland (top left).
Of the whole lot, the two I’d be most tempted by are the baby blue Peugeot 403 and the fin tail Benz with sunroof.
Funny photo, looks a lot like a collection of Dinky Toys. Quite like the pre-war square shaped car, whatever that is (Citroën Rosalie?)
It looks effectively like toy cars
i too will take the benz and think it looks like toy vehicles.
