Live from the Paris Motor Show: 1986 MVS Venturi

mvs-venturi-paris-11Venturi is celebrating its 30th anniversary by displaying its very first model at the Paris Motor Show. Introduced in 1986, the MVS Venturi was inspired by a thinly-veiled concept that was shown to the public for the first time at the 1984 edition of the Paris Motor Show.

Power for the coupe came from a Peugeot 505 Turbo-sourced 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine that made 180 horsepower at 5,200 rpms and 191 lb-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpms. Mounted transversally behind the passenger compartment, the turbo four allowed the Venturi to reach a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h), an impressive statistic in the mid-1980s.
