We’re traveling to Vienna, Austria, in the middle of the 1980s. The photographer who took the pics below was evidently more interested in trams that in cars, but his pics give us a good sample of what was roaming the streets of the Austrian capital thirty years ago.
What car(s) can you identify in the following pictures? What one(s) would you most like to have in your garage?
We’re tempted by any of the Beetles, the burgundy Renault 6 with the bent rear bumper in the first picture and even the red LNA in the very last shot but we’d ultimately go with the green Renault 17 on the right side of the fourth picture.

Same trams are still used in Belgrade. Actually they are donation from Basel, I think. Nice to see them in some other time and place,,,
I would chose that green early 5 series on the first picture… The red LNA looks rather like a 104 (numberplate panel was painted black on the citroen).
And I wonder what’s the white car on the 4th picture. Looks like a Fiat 124 but never seen those rear lights.
could it be a Lada instead of a Fiat?
It might be a SEAT 124…
1975-1980 SEAT 124 indeed.
my thought ref the LNA/104 too – I call Peugeot
i will take the ford fiesta on left side of photo #5, full size chevy wagon in photo #6, plus all the beetles and VW buses.
I will take the beige Ford Granada in photo #6.
Chevy Caprice wagon! Wasn’t expecting that one…
Vespa small frame was a nice touch.
The Caprice must have been one hell of a weird sight in Vienna back in the day, too.

You can meet these trams in Cracow now. Since a few years they have the second life there.
That green Renault 15/17 in the 4th pic has Czechoslovakian plates. Interesting…
