Steel wheels

Test your steel wheel IQ, eighteenth edition

Our “test your steel wheel IQ” series aims to share our passion for steel wheels and see how good our readers are at recognizing them.

Can you name the make and model that the following wheels come from? In some cases we have blacked out the logo on the center cap because it would have been too easy to guess otherwise. Also, there are several right answers for some of these wheels.

Have fun, and thanks for playing along.

  1. 1 Renault Van
    2 Land Rover series 2A
3 Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit, Jetta, and Scirocco
    4 ?
    5 Suzuki SJ
    6 Renault 4

    • 1. Not a Renault (are you thinking of the Estafette?), but it’s a van and it’s French.
      2. Land Rover is correct (It’s a Defender).
      3. German, but not a VW.
      4. Japanese.
      5. Correct.
      6. Not a Renault 4, but it’s French.

  2. 1) Peugeot J7
    2) Land Rover Defender
    3) ? ? ?
    4) As 3)
    5) Suzuki Samurai
    6) Renault ? Peugeot ? Something Franch, not Citroën.

      • Then I think 3 is Mercedes. No idea wich type.
        4 I still haven’t got a clue. Wild guess: Toyota ?
6 I still haven’t got a clue exept that it (still) is French. Panhard ?

      • I cheated and looked at the other ansers: Citroën GS. But I was sure it wasn’t a Citroën at all. I’m ashamed of myself (I’m a big Citroën fan and it’s not uncommon for me to recognize a car by the doorhandle or some other stupid, seemingly unimportant detail).

    • 1. Not a Ducato, but it’s a van.
      2. Correct.
      3. Correct! Good job, not very many people got that one.
      4. You’re on the right track.
      5. Correct.
      6. Not a 104 / LNA, but you’re definitely going in the right direction.
