We’re traveling back to Aix-en-Provence, France, in the early 1960s. Architecturally-speaking little has changed on the Cours Mirabeau, one of the town’s best-known streets, but cars are no longer allowed to park on either side of it today.
What cars can you identify in the following photos taken in the early 1960s? What one would you most like to have in your garage? Personally, we’d take the Fiat 500 Giardiniera visible behind the fountain on the right side of the first picture.
i see a lot of nice cars but no VWs. i wonder how many times the fountain has been hit.
Well, if it’s any indication both of the fountains pictured are still standing today. No word on how many times they’ve been rebuilt, though.
