Steel wheels

Test your steel wheel IQ, Pacific coast edition

Ran When Parked recently spent about a week traveling down the Pacific coast. The trip took us to towns like Seattle Port Townsend, Olympia, Portland, San Francisco and Monterey, and an unexpected, last-minute drive to Salt Lake City.

As always, we had our camera out during the entire trip and did our best to photograph the interesting vintage cars we came across. A full photo report on the trip will follow shortly but in the meantime, can you name what make and model the following steel wheels come from?

In some cases we have blacked out the logo on the center cap because it would have been too easy to guess otherwise. Also, there are several right answers for some of these wheels.

Have fun, and thanks for playing along.

  2. #4 is a 1979 Honda Accord wheel. I bought a thoroughly beat ’79 coupe many years ago, and put a set of ’80 Accord wheels on it, just because I hated those wheels so much.

    • Ha, why did you hate them? But yes, you’re correct.

Speaking of thoroughly beat Accord coupes, stay tuned for more pics of this one.. had a rust hole through the roof. Still being used regularly, though.

      • I only hated them because the ’80 wheels seemed so much more suited to the still stylish gen1 Accord. And mine needed all the cosmetic help in the world. Look forward to the update!
